And for users of the proprietary HP 3000, Hewlett-Packard Co announced support for the X Window System and additional Open Systems Interconnection and and Advanced Research Projects Agency services as well as software that strengthens the HP 3000’s compliance with IBM Systems Application Architecture, database management tools for creating multivendor systems and HP NetWare/XL for integrating personal computers in a client-server environment. The new open systems products, shipping now, are HP X400, supporting electronic mail traffic between systems supporting the X400 message handling standard; and HP MAP 3.0, the comp any’s implementation of the Manufac turing Automation Protocol speci fication for communication with fac tory floor devices. The company also announced that relational data base products and applications from Ask Computer Systems, BSA, Cognos, Collier-Jackson, CompuTrac, DPAI, Harris & Paulson, InfoCentre, Infor mation Builders, Ingres, Jobscope, MDSS, Mitchell Humphrey, Oracle, Q- CIM, Quest, Satcom and Western Data Systems will be supported on both the HP 9000 and HP 3000 families.
