A new ink-jet printer from Hewlett-Packard Co that is claimed to match the quality of laser printers at just $995 is generating considerable excitement – and unlike the generality of laser printers, it is all the company’s own work. The DeskJet was developed by Hewlett and is manufactured at its Corvallis, Oregon plant.
