Hertz has renewed its existing contract with BT Group with a three year extension. BT will provide networked IT services to Hertz Europe to enable it to offer customer services across its European offices through a collaborative IT infrastructure.

BT will provide Hertz with technology that will allow it to connect its corporate headquarters with rental station sites across Europe. BT will also support desktop devices, printers and servers. The network will deliver information to Hertz locations throughout Europe, enabling reservation fulfilment for all Hertz customers.

Paul Bermingham, IT director of Hertz Europe, said: “BT’s networked IT services are crucial to managing our business effectively across a large number of sites in seven different countries. The continued use of BT’s innovative technology will create tangible cost benefits for Hertz going forward.”

Laurie Bowen, managing director of commercial and brands at BT Global Services, said: “By partnering with BT, Hertz can explore new technology to innovate, create cost savings, and work effectively and efficiently across many diverse geographical locations.”
