Hemscott and Microsoft launch financial news SMS alerts

Financial information company Hemscott has launched free Short Message Service financial news alerts in association with Microsoft Windows Mobile.

By CBR Staff Writer

The SMS service allows investors to follow news stories and monitor relevant companies, by receiving text alerts straight to their mobile phones. An investor is able to set up SMS news alerts on all UK registered companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Users can enable SMS alerts for up to five companies, with the first 50 SMS text messages free of charge, as part of a trial courtesy of Windows Mobile. After the first 50 messages, users will then be asked to opt in to receive further chargeable messages.
