Ira Gershwin would have known just how she feels – he it was who wrote the words of I Can’t Get Started, to the melody of Vernon Duke: Lynne Knight, an employee of Cambridge Cable Ltd, is one of the guinea pigs for the first UK trial of video on demand and she tells the Daily Telegraph that there is at present only one game on the system, and while it might be good, she just doesn’t know – called Empire Soccer ’94, it requires you to spin a coin to decide ends at the start, but you can’t get beyond that stage because the coin does the impossible and exhibits virtual perpetual motion – the thing just keeps spinning and never touches the ground.
