It can be tough when all you have to offer the owners of a target company is your paper at a time when paper is at a big discount, but the effort to turn the Compsoft Plc shell into another Logica called Headland Group Plc – it is two or three better than HG Group, but couldn’t they have come up with a slightly less anonymous name, perhaps trading on that splendid Compsoft Manor in Goldalming? – is certainly off to a good start, and we hear that the company is staffing up a new unit that will concentrate exclusively on acquisitions.
