HASLER TO SELL LARGE PART OF STAKE IN ASCOM HOLDING

The Hasler Works Foundation, majority owner of troubled telecommunications equipment group Ascom Holding AG, aims to sell a large part of its stake in Ascom, but has not yet decided to whom it wants to sell – but L M Ericsson Telefon AB is agreed to be a possibility: the Berne company has found a buyer for its microelectronics activities in the shape of Micronas Oy, which owns companies in Switzerland and Germany, and employs 100 at a microelectronics plant in Finland; and Ascom said its operating earnings were in line with its budget and that it did not make a loss in the first quarter of the current year.
