The embedded market seems to be the place to be this week, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Harris Computer Systems Corp has signed up Motorola Inc’s Motorola Computer Group to market its new Power Unix real-time operating system and software environment with its new PowerPC 604-based single-board computer for the embedded market. Harris also announced the Power Hawk 610, a completely integrated system that includes Power Unix and Motorola MVME1604 board in an industry-standard enclosure. The environment includes NightStar real-time development tools and Ada, C and Fortran compilers. Power Unix costs $2,500 for the Motorola MVME1604, Power Hawk is from $19,835.
