According to the company, this new remote video processor broadens the capability of its Falcon Watch Remote Surveillance System.

The Falcon Watch Remote Video Processor is a covert unattended system combining an NTSC or PAL video camera and Falcon Watch frame processing capability with a digital video recorder. The DVR will record a video segment whenever it is cued by a Falcon Watch unattended ground sensor monitoring a specific area of interest. The system automatically transmits still imagery through the Falcon Watch RF-5405V-GW intelligent gateway so that the imagery can be monitored at a command center, said Harris.

The processor, like other components of the Falcon Watch system, is designed to operate in harsh environments for lengthy periods of time. Retrieved video is viewed at the Falcon Watch RF-5410 Sensor Management Application running on a laptop in the field or at the intelligence center.

Robert Post, product manager for Falcon Watch Systems at Harris, said: The Falcon Watch system is ideal for evidentiary missions such as drug and smuggled goods interdiction, terrorist and criminal activity and safe-house monitoring. With this system, military and law enforcement personnel will be provided with improved visual intelligence that will give them a better understanding of a situation in planning a response.
