Satellite communication services provider, SES, has signed a deal with EuropaSat for the distribution of its satellite broadband service SES Broadband in the UK and other countries across Europe.
The new satellite broadband service claimed to offer download speeds of about 20Mbps to its customers, using Ka-band capacity on its satellites.
As part of the deal, EuropaSat will provide services, including online ordering, pre- and post-sales support, logistics and maintenance, through its website as well as channel of resellers and marketing partners in the region.
EuropaSat managing director Andrew Walwyn said that the company’s mission is to deliver the widest range of quality broadband and offer alternatives via satellite in Europe.
"Our partnership with SES Broadband comes at a truly exciting time, with the further extension of the SES Broadband high-speed Ka-band service across Europe," Walwyn added.
SES Broadband Services managing director, Patrick Biewer, said that the partnership along with expansion of the company’s Ka-band offer and download speeds of up to 20Mbps will prove to be another milestone in its mission to bridge the digital divide across Europe and beyond.
"We are delighted to partner with EuropaSat and add SES Broadband’s unique service features to their portfolio," Biewer said.
EuropaSat’s capacity is based on the ASTRA 2F satellite located at the orbital position 28.2 degrees East while it plans to expand the capacity with the launch of ASTRA 2E, which also be located at 28.2 degrees East.
