Cisco is holding the last day of its Partner Summit in Montreal, Canada.
Following several announcements this week, CBR puts together a list of the main key points.
1. Azlan joins Cisco Cloud Aggregator Programme
Azlan joined the Cisco Cloud Aggregator Programme and will focus on recruiting new Cisco Cloud Services Resellers in the UK.
Cisco’s resellers will gain access to cloud solutions from Cisco-accredited Services Provider partners and support from its own Cloud Services and Cisco teams.
2. Intercloud suite expanded
Cisco launched four products to help channel partners move their clients across the cloud.
These include a suite of seven professional services available to resellers, and Cisco’s Intercloud Marketplace, a UX friendly app store going live this summer for customers looking to optimise their networks.
On top of that, the company will release Cisco Mobility IQ, which tracks end user devices, such as mobile phones on the edge of the network and log where they are using a combination of RFID and other technologies.
Finally, Cisco will launch an OpenStack Private Cloud Bundle, which is a one stop integrated system allowing customers to provide a private "Cloud in a box".
In the first year, the Intercloud suite saw over 65 partners signing up, across 350 data centres in 50 countries.
3. More data centre security
Cisco will integrate its Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) with its Firepower intrusion prevention systems to help secure data centre infrastructure.
The solution will launch in June this year and give companies the ability to secure their networks and data centres from the infrastructure right through to the application level as part of its software defined networking focus.
4. Software Partner Programme
The Software Partner Programme will push its partners to develop software and apps to work with the emerging digital business world, focused on the internet of things.
The programme will be launched in 2016, and answers Cisco’s call for more solutions towards the internet of everything.
