E-commerce systems house Harbinger Corp has acquired ‘substantially all’ the assets of Mactec Inc’s Materials Management Division, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Terms were not disclosed. MMD provides data rationalization services to large US companies, for use with applications such as electronic supplier catalogs. Its content management software is called Catalog+/Net. Harbinger says the technology will be integrated with software it acquired from Acquion Inc in August 1997. Harbinger’s Catalog Software Division manages numerous electronic catalogs for large suppliers. Atlanta, Georgia-based Harbinger has already acquired one company, the Houston, Texas-based e- commerce outsourcing company EDI Works LLC this year, and last year, aside from Acquion and Premenos Corp, also acquired Atlas Products International Ltd, NTEX Holding BV and Inovis GmbH as part of its push into Europe.
