HANSON SELLS LOSING MODCOMP TO COMPUTROL

By CBR Staff Writer

Did Hanson Plc see ModComp coming when it sold it the Computrol division of Kidde Automated Systems? Terms were not disclosed, we reported at the time (CI No 848), but Hanson has now said that ModComp – owned by West Germany’s AEG AG – paid $2.2m for a firm that has net assets of $750,000 and lost $2.5m on sales of $968,000 last year.
