The new online payment method will incorporate a signature using BankID linked to Netpay. Netpay is a unique payment solution for online commerce, developed specially for companies that offer shopping over the internet.
The new service allows processing to be further simplified with an additional feature enabling credit agreements to be signed online, eliminating all of the extra paperwork.
BankID is a joint service used by Swedish banks for electronic identification and signatures online.
This solution enables us to strengthen our position as the leading provider of financial sales support services to companies offering online shopping. Naturally, it is particularly gratifying to be the first in Sweden to offer this convenient payment service, for participating merchants as well as their customers, said Robert Wahlstrom, head of e-commerce at Handelsbanken Finans.
Over 3.5 million bank customers, including those of banks other than Handelsbanken, will be able to use the new service.
