HAMBROS LAUNCHES VENTURE FUND TO BACK SCIENCE PARK FIRMS NEEDING SMALL SUMS

By CBR Staff Writer

A UKP1m fund targeted at small companies based in science parks was launched on Tuesday by UKP35m investment group Hambros Advanced Technology Trust at the UK Science Park Association’s annual conference in London. The Hatt Science Park Investments fund aims to increase the amount of venture capital available to science park companies, and will provide small high-technology companies with backing of from UKP20,000 to UKP100,000; currently only 26 of the 642 companies on the parks make use of venture capital funds as part of their financing package.
