Away from the personal computer battle, Hambrecht predicted the new PowerPC microprocessor developed by Motorola Inc and IBM Corp would revolutionise the home electronic consumer marketplace: Bruce Lupatkin, Hambrecht’s managing director of technology research, said he saw a whole line of new products being introduced in the next 24 months that combined the calculator, personal organiser and pager – I see a 10-year period where the push will be to get the advancements as fast as possible to the consumer.
