HAHT Software will integrate Novell’s Directory Services (NDS) into its application server platform, HAHTsite. The intention is for customers to be able to create and use rich user profiles for all employees, clients and distributors – profiles that can be shared by all systems that user might use. Applications could in theory be tailored to individual needs – the holy grail of e- commerce.
HAHT points out that NDS already does the hard work necessary for customization. It supports cross-platform environments, single sign-on, scalability, synchronization and security. The first HAHT product to ship with built-in NDS capabilities is HAHT e- Scenario, a set of adaptive applications for rapid deployment online. Whether it will change the face of e-business remains to be seen.
