At Haggen, customer service is very important to us, and that means providing options to our customers, said Jeff Haggen, vice president of e-commerce, at Haggen. With the new pick-up service our customers now have a new option which allows them to customize the shopping experience to fit their needs.

The proprietary Haggen-branded e-commerce site mirrors the in-store shopping experience for customers. Customers are offered more than 20,000 items to choose from online, along with new and useful features such as: weekly advertised savings, new item showcasing, recipes from noted chefs, and an ability to save current shopping lists for future use.

The key feature of the site is that it enables customers to buy online, getting the same prices and discounts that are available in-store. Customers simply select their items (hand picked by Haggen’s personal shoppers) and pay for their purchase with a credit card. Customers pick up pre-bagged orders through the Parcel Pick-Up area or the guest services center whichever is most convenient. Pick-up is available between 9:00 am and 9:00 PM and as soon as 3 hours after you place your order. There is no fee for orders over $40 placed between February 28 and April 1, under $40 the fee is $4.95. After April 1 the fee is $4.95 for all orders.

Currently, the online service has only one pick-up location the Haggen Food & Pharmacy store at Barkley Village in Bellingham. During 2001, the program will be rolled out into all 26 stores owned by Haggen, Inc.
