GUPTA LAUNCHES SQLBASE 5.2 AS HEARTS SKIP A BEAT

Menlo Park, California-headquartered Gupta Corp, the company that has been giving its shareholders heart attacks with a whole sequence of profit warnings, has announced SQLBase 5.2, a version of its client-server database designed for the personal computer-local area network environment. According to the company, version 5.2 now supports Windows NT, OS/2 2.X, NetWare 4.X and UnixWare, with Solaris support following in ‘early’ 1995. The latest offering also provides embedded Open Data Base Connectivity support for simplified access to desktop applications, says Gupta. The product is shipping now, priced at from $1,000 for five users, up to $10,000 for an unlimited number.
