Gumstix has unveiled four new product packs for its tiny Overo computer-on-module (COM) series, the Overo EVM pack, Overo Wireless pack, Overo Network pack and Overo Breakout pack. These gum-packs can be used to assemble different configurations of OMAP processing, networking and communications to meet range of design requirements.

According to Gumstix, the Overo EVM pack offers Overo functions that are useful for device development and prototyping. The EVM pack comes with OMAP3530-based Overo Fire computer-on-module (COM), bluetooth and 802.11(b/g) wireless communications, 10/100baseT ethernet, USB host and USB OTG, a 40-pin header (with PWM, I2C, SPI and A/D lines), 8GB of storage, 4.3-inch touch screen LCD display, USB cables, an ethernet cable and a 5V US power adapter.

The Overo Wireless pack includes an OMAP3530 processor on an Overo Fire COM, bluetooth and 802.11(b/g) wireless communications, USB host and OTG, a 40-pin header (with PWM, I2C, SPI and A/D lines), 8GB of storage, a 3.5-inch touch screen LCD display, USB cables and a 5V US power adapter, the company said.

The company said that the Overo Network pack assists in development and production of a network-connected information appliance or data communication device needing the graphics and performance of OMAP. It combines OMAP3530 processing on the Gumstix Overo Water COM, 10/100baseT ethernet, USB host and USB OTG, a 40-pin header (with PWM, I2C, SPI and A/D lines), 8GB of storage, USB cables, an ethernet cable, an HDMI/DVI cable and a 5V US power adapter.

The Overo Breakout pack is designed for the student lab or OMAP designer workshop, has a DIP breadboard set-up for OMAP3530 programming on an Overo Water COM, USB OTG, 8GB of storage, a non-populated 60-pin header (with PWM, I2C, SPI and A/D lines), USB cables and a 5V US power adapter, Gumstix added.
