Scheineson, a former FDA Associate Commissioner conveyed a number of messages to the US customer.

The first related to prescription drugs and Mr Scheineson urged that patients should get a prescription script from their own doctor before buying online. In this way a doctor can advise a patient with details relevant to them in a more managed way. Mr Scheineson indicated that buying online without such advice could even e hazardous to health as a patient could potentially be given false information or indeed, the patient could misinterpret information given.

A patient should know all the facts before ordering online. Mr Scheineson stressed.

In order to keep a control of online operators, patients should contact the FDA website before ordering or to report complaints. In this way the FDA will be able to halt inappropriate sites that do not conform to US guidelines and collect a record of sites.
