GTE Corp’s GTE Telephone Operations says it plans to introduce a Switched Fractional T-1 service that will enable customers to conduct local video conferences over public switched telephone networks, in the fourth quarter this year: it expects the service will cost about four dollars per hour, plus a flat monthly charge of about $150.
