Outlining the activities of the six operating groups into which GTE Corp has reorganised its businesses (CI No 1,090), the Stamford, Connecticut company says that the Telephone Operations Group consists of its domestic US telephone operating units, the General Office, British Columbia Telephone, Quebec Telephone, the Dominican Republic Telephone Co and Data Services. The Electrical Products Group will contain the company’s US Lighting, Lighting International, Lighting Products and Precision Materials units. GTE Government Systems consists of Command, Control and Communications Systems, Electronic Defense Systems and Tactical Systems. The Information Services Group consists of Directories, Telecom, Commercial Services, Education Services, Health Services and Interactive Services. The Mobile Communications Group is made up of its Mobilnet, Cellular Communications Corp, Airfone and Paging units, while its Spacenet Group takes in satellite launching and operations units.
