Granville Technology Group Ltd may not be a name that many are familiar with, but it is the one behind MJN Technology and Colossus personal computers and Time Computer Systems Ltd value-added resellers, among others. The Burnley, Lancashire-based company has opened a plant in its home town with the capacity to build up to 300,000 personal computers each year. It will turn out 100,000 machines in its first year and is likely to be up to capacity within two years, according to the company. The computers made will bear the MJN and Colossus badges and will be sold as stand alone computers, as well as being bundled with peripherals and software from other manufacturers. Time Computer Systems Ltd, Time Direct and MrPC will continue to resell computers from IBM Corp, Compaq Computer Corp, Apple Computer Inc, and Toshiba Corp, among others. Granville said the plant will creats 100 new jobs, bringing its total to 360.
