The two well respected local firms of Adler, Langdon, Hasenclever & Asociados, public accountants, and Expertise S.A., business consultants, will join together on July 1, 2001, to become the new Argentine member of Grant Thornton International, adopting the name Grant Thornton.
As a full member of Grant Thornton’s international network, the new firm of 100 personnel will provide a broad portfolio of core accountancy services and specialist business advice, focusing on Argentina’s owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses. Presently, from their offices in Buenos Aires, the firms work together to serve a significant number of international clients, many of which are subsidiaries of companies headquartered in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and the United States.
David McDonnell, chief executive of Grant Thornton’s global operations, commented: Argentina is a major market and economy, and the agreement between Adler, Langdon, Hasenclever & Asociados and Expertise S.A. will significantly strengthen Grant Thornton’s presence there. Their union will deliver a broader portfolio of services that are demanded by clients in the region, from audit and accounting through to consulting and business development advice. We see particular potential for the firm’s outsourcing service for accounting departments within companies.
The problems in the Argentinean economy mean that businesses need sound strategic advice more than ever before. Grant Thornton’s new operation in Argentina helps many businesses deal with the current tough times and supports them effectively in achieving their commercial objectives. We have had a very encouraging response from clients to our new proposition.
