Implicit Networks’ software will be used to create an end-to-end solution including content management on the PC and portable video player (PVP), access to premium content from online stores, playback of photos, movies, music, slideshows and playlists, as well as access to mobile games.
Ed Brachocki, GoVideo’s CEO, said: Partnering with Implicit gives us access to content throughout the home including digital video recorders, PCs and UPnP devices, as well as access to premium services enabled by Implicit’s platform.
Implicit’s software for PVPs, the Implicit Media Player, includes a rich user interface, complete connectivity for home networks in wired, wireless and tethered modes, broad support for video, audio and still picture formats, and is available on Windows CE and Linux.
The Implicit Media Player is configurable to support digital rights management for direct access to premium online movie and music services. In addition, the Implicit Media Player supports UPnP, UPnP AV, USB OTG/2.0, mass storage and connectivity with Implicit’s PC software and web based services.
GoVideo’s PVP based on Implicit’s software is scheduled for availability in the second quarter of 2005.
