Stephen Houck, one of the government lawyers assisting lead attorney David Boies in the Microsoft Corp antitrust trial in Washington, has resigned from the New York attorney general’s office. Houck questioned Microsoft chairman Bill Gates on videotape, but at the trial cross-examined only one witness, IBM Corp’s John Soyring. The other 25 witnesses were questioned by Boies himself. Houck did contribute to the closing arguments session earlier this month. He was head of the antitrust office for New York’s attorney general until last year, when he was replaced by Harry First after last year’s election. First was overseeing the trial.
