GORE DEFENDS TELECOMS ACT

Vice President Al Gore defended the US Telecommunications Act against critics who say it is a failure, saying that the Clinton administration has no plans to try and reopen the act. This is the first year of a process of change that will take quite some time, Gore told a press meeting, noting that several key provisions of the law have yet to be implemented.
