Google’s Chrome browser available on iPad, iPhone

The new version of Chrome browser will run on iOS 4.3 and higher devices and will also support Chrome sync

By CBR Staff Writer

Chrome, Google’s web browser, is now available on the iPhone and iPad, the two popular mobile devices of its rival Apple.

The app offers users access to all the tabs that are open across multiple devices, the demand of the market since a long time.

Also, by signing in to Chrome, users can easily move from their desktop, laptop, smartphone and tablet and have all of their information with them, without the need to re-enter them.

Google senior vice president Sundar Pichai said Chrome has nearly doubled since last year’s I/O, from 160 million to 310 million active users around the world.

"Starting today, Chrome is also available for your iPhone and iPad. That means you can enjoy the same speedy and simple Chrome experience across your devices," he said.

In February, Google released Chrome for Android, which exited beta this week and is the standard browser on Nexus 7, the company’s own tablet.

The arrival of Chrome on Apple’s mobile operating system is after Yahoo launched a browser Axis for the iPhone and iPad.
