Google Web Toolkit goes open source

Google Inc has open-soured the entirety of Google Web Toolkit to attract more Java developers to use its programming tools to build Ajax Web applications.

By CBR Staff Writer

GWT uses a function that transaltes Java to JavaScript, which helps developers design Ajax Web pages without having to switch over to JavaScrpit programming or leave their native environment.

Now its all available under the Apache 2.0 license. Google initially released GWT in May, but has only open-sourced parts of it under Apache 2.0 until this week’s announcement.
