The three-year, nine-month deal includes over a dozen consumer-facing Fox web sites, including MySpace and IGN, but does not apply to any of News Corp’s news or sports oriented sites.
The $900m payment comes over three years, starting in the first quarter 2007, and requires Fox’s sites to meet certain traffic levels.
Google is believed to have won the deal in a bidding war with rivals including Yahoo! Inc. It could be a lucrative deal, due to the fact that the sites in question have about 100 million users.
