The new APIs enable developers to, for example, layer hotel prices, petrol prices or live weather data over street maps.
Users can then use these overlays to create custom maps, which can then be saved to a Google-hosted library, Google said.
Google Maps, since its launch three years ago has been one of the most popular web applications that could be mashed up on third-party web sites.
