Google claims the new site will offer an easier way to search for stocks, mutual funds, public and private companies. The site will also provide a broad range of company news and information in order to deliver more relevant, unbiased results.
Amongst the tools and features Google Finance will offer are company searches, interactive charts, news, blogs, discussion groups and portfolios.
Explaining how the service works, Google explained, Google Finance works by combining content we’ve licensed from financial data providers with content we’ve crawled and indexed from the web. The result is an easier approach to helping you find and manage financial information online.
Google Finance sets itself up in direct competition to the more established Yahoo Finance and Microsoft’s MSN money given the similar features it shares with these sites.
