Web Albums is designed for easy uploading and storing of photos, which can be displayed in public galleries or remain unlisted, only viewable to those who know the unique URL of the album.
A ‘share’ button lets users email links to photos, albums, and galleries, while a ‘my favorites’ tab allows users to list links to friends’ web albums. Users can also add comments to photos in public albums.
Web Albums will provide users with 250MB of free storage. An additional 6GB of storage is available for $25.
Yahoo-owned photo-sharing service Flickr, meanwhile, offers unlimited storage space and allows users to upload photos from mobile phones as well computers for a yearly subscription fee of $25.
