Google Chrome off to flying start?

While I was enjoying the sunshine in Sicily (as one does), web analytics firm WebTrends noted that UK newspaper website the Telegraph found that within the first week of Google Chrome’s launch, it saw nearly 2% of its traffic using the new Chrome browser.

WebTrends said it has already updated its On Demand software to incorporate Google Chrome into its customer’s reports, which now enables customers to report on and group users that searched for their site through Chrome in the same way as other existing browsers.

Christian Howes, digital solutions architect at WebTrends said, “Its [sic] absolutely crucial to any business with a web presence that they have a clear view of which browsers visitors are using for a number of reasons including accessibility, usability and security. All important factors when looking to design, implement and measure the online experience.”

“This browser has already overtaken some of the more established search engines,” said Howes, “so as ever it looks like Google has taken the shine off its competitors efforts with Chrome.”
