Google has renewed the content licensing deal with the Associated Press (AP) to host the publisher’s content on Google sites such as Google News.

However, details of the agreement extension have not been disclosed yet.

Google senior business product manager Josh Cohen was quoted by Reuters citing bolgpost as saying that they look forward to future collaborations, including on ways Google and AP can work together to create a better user experience and new revenue opportunities.

The news agency has quoted AP as saying that the publisher and Google will also work together in a number of new areas, such as ways to improve discovery and distribution of news.

Google has stopped hosting AP stories on Google News from January 2010, although the licensing agreement signed in 2006 was still active, Reuters reports.

Google resumed hosting AP stories in February, according to The Wall Street Journal as cited by the news agency.
