Good enhances ‘Good for Enterprise’ to support Apple, Android devices

Application Distribution and Mobile Device Management features upgraded

By CBR Staff Writer

Good Technology, a provider of secure multi platform enterprise mobility offerings, has enhanced the company’s flagship Good for Enterprise product with Enterprise Application Distribution and Mobile Device Management (MDM) support for Apple iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android-enabled devices.

The company hopes that the enhanced features, available for iOS 4 and Android 2.2 and higher, will provide Good’s customers with more options to secure and manage the distribution of their most mission-critical enterprise applications, data, and documents.

Good Technology senior vice-president of corporate strategy John Herrema said over 1,500 of the company’s enterprise customers deployed new tablets like the iPad2, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab in the last six months alone.

Herrema added, "In many cases, these tablets are being purchased by the company itself and explicitly targeted for enterprise apps, such as Sales Force Automation and Point-of-Sale apps, and in support of ‘paperless office’ green initiatives. This is making the secure and managed distribution of internally developed apps and corporate documents more important than ever."

The Enterprise Application Distribution and MDM features for iOS and Android 2.2 and higher are available at no additional charge to all Good for Enterprise customers with a valid support and maintenance agreement.

Good Technology vice-president of products and markets Dimitri Volkmann said, "Gartner recently positioned Good in the ‘Leader’ category in its Mobile Device Management Software Magic Quadrant — because we are able to secure and manage virtually all of the devices employees most want to use for both work and play."
