Columbus, Ohio-based Goal Systems International Inc and FileTek Inc have announced an alliance for the development of support interfaces between Goal’s automated output management software products SAR, SysOut Archival, and Retrieval, Express Delivery and the FileTek Storage Machine; SAR provides online access to SysOut listings, including JCL listings, SysLogs and production reports archived on disk, tape or optical disk; Express Delivery automates report printing, distribution and tracking, and enables related reports from different applications to be grouped into bundles; it offers optical interfaces for the Storage Machine at two levels, a report-level interface and a page-level interface; the report-level interface enablesthe full text of a chosen report to be restored to host disk for subsequent on-line viewing; the page-level interface retrieves only user-specified pages directly from the Storage Machine and with this interface, Goal says that there is no use of the host disk drive.
