GMC Software Technology (GMC), provider of communications management and output management, has announced the launch of a customer acquisition tool for the banking industry, called the ‘Interactive Paperless Onboarding" application.

The Interactive Paperless Onboarding application replicates the personalised interactive approach available in a bank branch in the home or place of work of a prospective or existing customer, because it empowers bank staff to sign up new customers outside of the branch.

The new app can be used on all mobile and tablet devices. It allows bank employees can go through the onboarding process for a new account, loan or credit card quickly and easily. It will deliver the necessary signed forms and take pictures of customer ID; avoiding the cost of producing and processing paper forms.

During the onboarding process, videos of the product being sold can be viewed on the tablet by the customer, along with other products and services they might be interested in. The app will then produce an online version of the welcome kit for the customer to access in real-time, with the signed application forms, IDs, surveys, banks details attached to it.

Didier Rouillard, vice president of product marketing, GMC Software Technology, commented on the new app: "This application has the potential to transform the way banking agents operate and communicate with customers. Not only does this save them money on the amount of paperwork and associated administration, but it empowers staff to go into the field and ‘meet’ prospective and existing customers at times and locations that suit them to drive a sale. It’s set to improve the whole customer experience."
