By CBR Staff Writer

Globecomm Systems, a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure services, has received a three-year VSAT access service contract from a US government agency valued at $3.4 million.

According to the company, it will be providing managed network services including installation, engineering support, teleport services, equipment and on-going maintenance services into areas of south and central Asia.

The contract includes two one-year customer options and the potential for worldwide expansion to support the customer’s global operations.

Keith Hall, COO of Globecomm Network Services, said: Globecomm continues to execute on its global managed services vision and is proud to support this customer in its mission.

This contract is a good example of Globecomm’s capability to create end-to-end services as our customers look to expand their telecom networks with next generation technologies. We look forward to servicing this customer with high reliability and availability for many years to come.

Earlier, in the third week of March 2009, Globecomm announced that the Company has received multiple contract awards from various Government agencies valued at $3.3 million. The contracts include Globecomm’s customizable field terminals with AxxSys M&C software, two L band entry terminal upgrades and its most recent product announcement, the Ka band Auto-Explorer satellite terminal. The Company anticipates the completion of these contracts in the Company’s fiscal 2010 first quarter ending September 30, 2009.
