Globecomm receives $3 million in contracts from various government agencies

Globecomm Systems, a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has received multiple contract awards, valued at $3 million, from various government agencies.

According to the company, the contracts include C and Ku band terminal upgrades with technology refresh initiatives including L band frequency architecture with related subsystems and Globecomm’s AxxSys Orion Monitor and Control System. The company anticipates the upgrades to be completed in the company’s fiscal 2009 fourth quarter ending June 30, 2009.

Mike Plourde, vice president government programs at Globecomm Systems, said: Globecomm continues to service the government marketplace as our customers upgrade their core satellite infrastructure with more advanced technology. Our AxxSys Orion product provides several advanced features designed to promote life cycle support efficiencies. These features help significantly reduce yearly maintenance and support costs.
