Globecomm Systems, a provider of communications offerings and services, has introduced FAST (Forward -Deployed Asset Support Terminal), which enables organisations to quickly deploy communication offerings.
FAST is an enterprise-class platform that delivers tens of megabits of connectivity and technology options that can turn the platform into a multipurpose hub for local communications.
In addition, the FAST terminal provides support, logistic, and service offerings including ready-to-deploy technical personnel to provide set-up and maintenance of the hub, and satellite bandwidth on demand with no reservation fee.
The company said that with each FAST unit, it can deploy its SatCell Instant Mobile Network, a satellite-based terminal providing GSM, CDMA or UMTS (WCDMA) mobile service.
SatCell provides local and long-distance mobile service including voice, SMS, Internet data and advanced calling features.
Globecomm Systems government business development vice-president Dwight Hunsicker said FAST leverages their technical expertise, proprietary offerings, global satellite and fiber network, and access to highly trained and experienced personnel available on short notice.
