The Network Management Forum is launching a new global, on-line Bulletin Board service to accelerate development of interoperable management systems; it will help co-ordinate industry efforts for availability and use of Managed Object and Object Ensemble definitions, says the Morristown, New Jersey-headquartered Forum. The bulletin board will consist of two elements: an electronic mail exploder list for open discussion of requirements, developer and user issues, and feedback and information related to object/ensemble development and use; and a file store containing data relating to object and ensemble definitions and their related documentation. Developers will be able to take data directly from the Board and input it directly to a compiler without re-typing ASN.1 code. The launch date for the board was not announced.
