Those interminable Financial Times supplements that aren’t actually intended for readers, only advertisers have never had quite the same cachet since they were mercilessly ridiculed by David Nobbs’ Reginald Perrin on BBC TV a decade and more ago, but the FT’s offering yesterday was a classic of the genre, being entitled Global Custody – an area that seems to keep a lot of computers very busy: the lead feature began Global custody is one of the least known areas of international banking and investment, and in the second paragraph carried the quote You would be amazed how many people still don’t know what global custody is – oh no we wouldn’t.
