Global Crossing wins four-year contract from FirstGroup

Supply UK WAN that connects over more than 700 sites

Global Crossing, an IP solutions provider, has announced that it has been selected by the UK’s transport operator, FirstGroup, to supply a secure Wide Area Network (WAN) that will link FirstGroup’s many dispersed sites across the UK.

The four-year £8.2m contract will see Global Crossing implement a managed data network on over more than 700 sites.

The company said the Key elements of the offering will be its Managed Security Service and implementation project management.

Global Crossing already provides a managed voice offering to FirstGroup as part of an industry-wide service catering to nearly 50,000 users.
