GFI Informatique SA, bought back from EDS France a year ago, says it is ready to discuss with CEA (the Atomic Energy Company) to take back control of Athesa, the facilities management subsidiary created by Commissariat a l’Energie Atomique subsidiary CISI SA and Compagnie des Machines Bull SA in 1993, says a report in Les Echos. Athesa, which never achieved the success its partners planned, remains a subsidiary of CISI, which was recently the subject of acquisition discussions between Sema Group Plc and parent CEA. Since those talks fell through CEA and CISI have been evaluating CISI and its subsidiaries with an eye to selling off some parts. GFI, under the direction of former EDS France chief executive Jacques Tordjman, saw its 1995 revenues climb to approximately $105m from $72m in 1994. Tordjman told the paper that he expects to be profitable this year and to float on the Paris Bourse in 1997. In the grand Electronic Data Systems Corp tradition, Tordjman acquired six small companies in 1995, and is planning to acquire a service company in the second quarter with annual turnover of some $70m. He told the paper that EDS France is shooting for turnover of approximately $200m in 1997.
