Dutch computer services company Getronics NV has raised its stake in Raet NV to 100% by acquiring the 50% stake that was held by the still state-owned Roccade Informatica Groep NV 15 months ago when the two moved in on Raet (CI No 2,753). Getronics said it had paid for the 50% stake in cash from its own resources but did not say how much it paid. At the time of the original deal, Getronics said it brought Roccade in as a partner because the state payroll and personnel packages and services company had skills outside its own competence. It says the new deal will have a positive effect on its expected earnings per share this year and that a substantial contribution is also expected for 1997, and that it moved to buy the rest after the Dutch government obstructed its plans for a merger with Roccade. Getronics had sales last year of $970m and says that sales and operating profits of most Raet units had developed better than was expected in 1996.
