Getac UK has launched a fully rugged convertible notebook, the V200, which is powered by the new Intel Core i7 2.0 GHz processor.

The V200 features 12.1 inch convertible wide screen display with resistive multi-touch technology, and includes 1200 NITs QuadraClear technology that facilitates operation in direct sunlight.

The V200 comes with LifeSupport battery swapping system that allows field users to change out a depleted battery with a fresh charged one.

By entering standby mode, the user has approximately two minutes and 30 seconds to replace the battery.

The company said that its new notebook is MIL-STD-810G and IP65 compliant, and includes a shock mounted 320GB hard disk drive and sealed I/O caps and doors to prevent damage from solid particles and moisture.

Users can also configure the V200 with an 80GB solid state drive.

Other features of the all-in-one unit include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, 10/100/1000 Giga LAN and 4MB of Intel L3 Smart Cach, and GPS and 3G as available options.

The V200 also includes multiple expansion interfaces including USB, VGA, RS232, eSATA, SD card reader and PCMCIA.

Getac UK business development director Peter Molyneux said that the V200 has unmatched capacity to handle even the most CPU-intensive software, while still performing in demanding field conditions across a range of applications.
