Nothing like the prospect of an Olympic Games to be covered by TV companies ever more desperate to make their pictures look exciting and different, so they have every reason to smile this year down at UEI Plc’s Quantel Ltd (get the spelling right) subsidiary in Newbury, Berkshire: GE’s NBC unit is spending $3m with Quantel for digital editing, graphics and video library equipment, for use in its TV coverage of the Seoul Oympiad.
