GERSTNER EXPECTING PROFIT

IBM Corp chairman Louis Gerstner told the annual meeting in Toronto yesterday that he expects the company to earn a profit this year: I am not writing a pledge in stone, but barring some unforeseen circumstances, we are planning on being profitable in 1994, Gerstner said, adding – I think it’s safe to say the funeral dirge is over.
